Just to contradict myself, I am ashamed to say that I have met several Americans who own up to the stereotype:
1. At our orientation in Madrid, a group of American guys went out to a liquor store to buy 2 LARGE bottles of cheap beer for us all to share. And then maybe after that they would go out to a bar.
2. The Americans we met in a bar in San Sebastian were more hammered than anyone else in there and were talking really loudly.
3. One of those Americans kept insisting that she was pretty sure she was a lesbian.
4. When I claimed that “There isn’t too much to do in San Sebastian besides just enjoying the beach and hanging out,” an American girl interrupted me, saying, “and getting wasted!”
